* the chromatics…
of ria paquée.
last week we went to see her beautiful installation at exhibitionspace LLS387, lange leemstraat 387,antwerp.
mainly photowork but also film and 3D which form a well composed overview of
the artists recent work.
it seems to be all about colours but captured in daily life scenes in amongst others: india, france and belgium,
telling also a lot about the impact of clothing for the vision of a community.
it reminded us on one of our favourite books of inspiration:
(un)fashion, by tibor and maira kalman.
it is a little magic, depending on what project you are busy with,
you keep finding images you seem to haven´t seen before.
* openening momu antwerp
yesterday was the opening of the new exhibition : zwart/ black at the fashionmuseum in antwerp.
the presentation is very graphical , clean black and white.

giving a good background for all the black silouets of various designers.
big names as comme des garçons and ann demeulemeester, raf simons but also a piece of helena lumelsky s beautiful dark collection,outfits of gareth pugh , iris van herpen and historical pieces of the momu stock.
its definitely worth passing by to have a look. the uniform colours provide such a good focus for patternwork and textiles .

ra gave a party afterwards in the café, dresscode black with mysterious nearly black cocktails.

* hockney
we like hockneys paintings and we love his drawings.
all images are out of this book:

unfortunately we had to erase the images, so get the book
or visit david hockney virtually.

* daniel sannwald book
our good friend german photographer daniel sannwald has his
first book printed. it will be out beginning of 2010 with a broad overview of his
works. One spread and the cover to get curious and three questions to the photographer:
1. the best thing that happened to you in 2009
2. how does it feel holding your first book in your hands?
its a very nice feeling as i am used to working with magazines and the fact that everything is produced for a moment or an issue – it´s great to have something now captured in a different timescale.
3. your favorite picture of the month.
thank you daniel!
